My Pick is in. The Penguins will win the Cup.

No, the Penquins will not win the Stanley Cup JUST because they were lucky enough to draft future superstar Sydney Crosby, who I do believe will become the top superstar of our time (yet still no Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemeiux or Gordie Howe). The indirect effects of his signing however, have given Pittsburgh fans something to cheer about.

A slew of veterans, including Mark Recchi, Lyle Odelein, Ziggy Palffy, a returning John LeClair and team captain (and part owner) Lemeiux have come to Pittsburgh to help the Penguins win, and win now.

The Penguins have solid goaltending behind Joclyn Thibault, and a strong defensive unit with Sergei Gonchar and Odelein leading the team in that department. With a team this deep, experienced and talented, the Penguins will be a force to be reckoned with in the NHL's Eastern Conference.
